Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 25, 2026
One Of You Is Wrong ("we," "us," "our") is operated by Escape Velocity Ventures (Escape Velocity Partners LLC DBA Escape Velocity Ventures). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our iOS app and visit our website at oneofyouiswrong.com.
Information We Collect
We collect the minimum information necessary to operate the app:
- Apple Sign In identity token — used to authenticate iOS users. Not stored beyond the session.
- Google Sign In identity token — if/when you use our future Android app, it will be used to authenticate Android users. Not stored beyond the session. The iOS version of this app uses Apple Sign In only; Google Sign In is reserved for a future Android client.
- Audio recordings — your debate recordings are transmitted to our server for AI processing, then deleted once your verdict is delivered, and in all cases no later than 24 hours after submission. We do not retain your voice recordings. A short AI-generated audio verdict (text-to-speech) may be temporarily stored in encrypted cloud storage for up to 7 days solely to ensure reliable delivery to your device, then automatically deleted. If you have iCloud enabled on your device, verdict audio may additionally be stored in your personal iCloud account and synchronized to your other Apple devices. This data is owned by you and governed by Apple's iCloud Terms and Conditions. You can manage or delete it at any time from your device's iCloud settings.
- Email address — your email address is received from Apple or Google at sign-in and stored in your account record. It is used solely for account support and service operations. We do not use your email address for marketing, send unsolicited messages, or share it with third parties for any advertising or tracking purpose.
- Usage data — we track the number of debates you've run this month to enforce subscription limits. This is stored server-side tied to a pseudonymous user ID.
- Subscription status — received via Apple App Store Server Notifications to keep your subscription tier current.
- Diagnostics and support data — limited technical information about crashes, app hangs, and performance issues may be collected to monitor and troubleshoot the app. If you choose to send feedback or diagnostics from within the app, we also receive the content you submit, including any optional screenshots. Automatic diagnostics are associated with a hashed user identifier rather than your name or email.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your name or phone number.
- We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
- We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or product analytics SDKs. We do use a third-party diagnostics and error-monitoring provider, described below.
How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you via Apple Sign In (iOS) or Google Sign In (Android, future).
- To process your debate audio through our AI pipeline and return a verdict.
- To enforce subscription and usage limits.
- To process subscription events from Apple (renewals, cancellations, refunds).
- To detect, investigate, and fix crashes, app hangs, performance issues, and bugs, and to review feedback or diagnostics you choose to send.
- To contact you for account support or service operations if you reach out to us. We will never contact you for marketing or promotional purposes.
Data Retention
Your debate audio recordings (your voice input) are deleted from our servers once your verdict is delivered, and in all cases no later than 24 hours after submission. AI-generated verdict audio (text-to-speech output) is temporarily stored in encrypted cloud storage for up to 7 days after the verdict is produced, solely to ensure your device can reliably download it even if your connection is interrupted. This temporary audio is automatically deleted after 7 days. Debate verdicts are stored locally on your device via SwiftData and are not backed up to our servers. Usage counters reset at the start of each subscription billing period. Your account record is retained until you delete your account.
Third-Party Participants
When you use our Service, we may process the voice of another person who participates in the debate. That person's audio is subject to the same processing and deletion policies described above. If a non-user participant whose voice was recorded wishes to request deletion of their voice data, they may contact privacy@escapevelo.com with the approximate date and time of the debate.
Biometric Data Notice
Your voice recordings may be classified as biometric data under certain state laws (including the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act). We provide the following notices:
- Collection & Use: We collect your voice solely to transcribe and analyze your debate. Voice recordings are not used for identification or authentication purposes.
- Retention & Destruction: Voice recordings are deleted from our servers once your verdict is delivered, and in all cases no later than 24 hours after submission. We do not store voiceprints, voice models, or any persistent biometric identifiers derived from your voice.
- No Sale: We do not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from your voice recordings or any biometric data.
- Consent: By using the recording feature, you consent to the collection and processing of your voice as described above. You may withdraw consent at any time by ceasing to use the Service.
- Fact Verification (More/Max/Trial): Transcribed text derived from your debate may be sent to Perplexity AI for fact verification (More, Max, and trial users only). Perplexity receives text only — never audio recordings or voiceprints.
Security
All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256 server-side encryption. Access to user data is restricted to authorized services and personnel. We do not perform human review of your audio content.
Content Moderation
We use automated systems to screen for prohibited content. Flagged content is not processed further and is deleted. We may report imminent threats of harm to law enforcement as required by law. No human reviews your audio.
AI Model Training
We do not use your audio or debate content to train or improve machine learning models.
Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab in the app. Deleting your account permanently removes your user record (including your stored email address), usage data, and all associated records from our servers within 24 hours. Any remaining audio objects in cloud storage are deleted per our standard lifecycle policies described above. Data stored locally on your device must be deleted by removing the app.
Fraud-prevention retention: To prevent abuse of our free trial (where a user could delete and immediately re-create an account to obtain unlimited free trials), we retain a minimal pseudonymous record after deletion. This record contains only your authentication identifier (the same pseudonymous user ID issued by Apple or Google — not your name, email address, or other direct account profile information), your trial usage counters, and the deletion date. It is automatically and permanently deleted after 365 days. This retention is based on our legitimate interest in preventing fraud (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) and does not affect your right to erasure of your deleted account data; the retained authentication identifier is kept solely as a minimal pseudonymous record for fraud prevention during that period.
Data Breach Notification
In the event of a security breach that compromises your personal information, we will notify affected users without unreasonable delay and in accordance with applicable state law. Notification will be provided via in-app notice or, where required, by other means.

Your debate content is transmitted only to the providers needed to generate your verdict. Limited technical diagnostics and any feedback or screenshots you choose to submit may also be transmitted to our diagnostics provider for support and troubleshooting. We do not authorize them to use your data for any other purpose.
Children
Our app is rated 13+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. To report a child under 13 using the Service, contact privacy@escapevelo.com.
